Assisting Dr. Nick George in cleaning out his Wilmot 2 laboratory space. Dr. George has been operating in the space for well over 25 years. The need to clean out the lab space has arisen with the arrival of new faculty and a new optics chair. Per's knowledge of optics equipment and chemicals was beneficial in the clean up. Per spent more than 150 hours working with Dr. George on this project.

Benefit to the Hajim School

Per was able to redistribute usable optics equipment from these labs thus saving resources. As the optics safety officer, Per was also able to properly dispose of old chemicals. Per's work on this project was financially beneficial to optics in addition to Per's ability to work respectfully with a valued faculty member.

Assisting with the installation of equipment in the Quantum Optics and Nano-Optics teaching laboratory facility. For instance, recently installing a floating table for the AFM which involved bringing and installing a nitrogen tank. This equipment is a valuable tool for teaching students in labs.

Benefit to the Hajim School

Per fills a valuable support need for several of the Institute's laboratories. These labs are utilized by both undergraduate students and graduate students.
