Maria Schnitzler

Date: January 18, 2017
Nominated by: Robert Boyd

Accomplishment: Ms. Schnitzler demonstrated extraordinary effort and skills over and above normal expectations by completing two extensive research proposals to DARPA with a short lead time and the same deadline. Ms. Schnitzler was the primary coordinator for both of these proposals. These proposals were very complicated because DARPA requires budget information in four separate formats. Proposal #1 was for $3.5M (4 years) and involved three different universities: two domestic and one international. Proposal #2 was for $3M (4 years) and also involved three different entities: two domestic universities and one industrial partner. This nomination is in recognition of her outstanding organizational skills in managing two different concurrent proposals and for her willingness to put in the extra work time needed.

Benefit to the Hajim School: The potential benefit to the university is research awards totaling $6.5M.
