2017-2018 Fulbright Competition
The Fulbright 2017-2018 competition is now open, with a deadline of August 1, 2016 for most programs.
The Fulbright Program awards approximately 8,000 grants annually. Roughly 1,200 U.S. scholars, and 900 visiting scholars, 1,600 U.S. students, 4,000 foreign students receive awards each year, in addition to hundreds of teachers and other professionals. For questions and assistance, please contact Jane Gatewood in the UR Office of Global Engagement or your respective assistant dean.
Although it may seem early to consider an application, there are a number of issues to coordinate for some opportunities. Often, letter of commitment from your host institution is required for the Scholars program, for example, in addition to visas, passports, vaccines etc., so it is not too early to get started!
Fulbright offers a number of very informative webinars for all of its programs. The calendar of webinars can be found here.
A recording of last year's information session at UR may be found on the AS&E Research website under Events.
