Professor Boyd Appointed Canada Excellence Research Chair

Professor Robert W. Boyd has been appointed as the inaugural Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Quantum Nonlinear Optics. He will be taking up this position in the Fall of 2010 at the University of Ottawa in Canada's capital city.

The $10 million funding that comes with the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Quantum Nonlinear Optics enabled uOttawa to recruit Dr. Boyd from the University of Rochester in the United States and will allow him to establish a world-class program in quantum nonlinear optics. Dr. Boyd will be splitting his time between the University of Ottawa and the University of Rochester.
