By leveraging knowledge of quantum interactions, recent algorithms promise efficient alternatives to the limited classical solutions. Although quantum information processing and quantum computing have been well established as fields of significant research interest, efforts to make these technologies scalable still pose significant challenges. Rather than following this same path of atom or electron spin to build qubits, or even exploring other properties of light such as polarization or spatial modes, encoding information in the wavelength or frequency of light supports a swath of potential advantage. His research interests include quantum information, quantum optics, and integrated photonics.
