  • 09/2006 - 12/2011: PhD in Electrical Engineering, ECE Department, University of Minnesota. The thesis was entitled "Sparsity Control for Robustness and Social Data Analysis" and my advisor was Prof. Georgios B. Giannakis. University of Minnesota's best dissertation award honorable mention.

  • 09/2006 - 07/2009: M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, ECE Department, University of Minnesota. The thesis was entitled "Distributed Adaptive Estimation and Tracking using Ad Hoc Wireless Sensor Networks" and my advisor was Prof. Georgios B. Giannakis.

  • 03/2000 - 09/2005: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications option), Facultad de Ingenieria, Universidad de la Republica, Montevideo, Uruguay. Some projects I've done as a requirement for the degree:

    1. "SIP & *: Implementaciones de VoIP basadas en SIP, un estudio utilizando Asterisk" in 2004-2005. VoIP implementations based on SIP, using Asterix (the Linux PBX) as evaluation platform. More info (in Spanish).
    2. "La Bola" in 2003. Convex autonomous robot, capable of avoiding obstacles in its way to scoring in an illuminated goal. More info (in Spanish).

  • 03/1997 - 11/1999: Final three high school years (Scientific orientation), The British Schools, Montevideo, Uruguay. I received the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 1999, and the following awards:

    1. "Outstanding all-round student (High School & English studies 6th year)" in 1999.
    2. "John Thewlis Prize for Excellence in Mathematics" in 1998.

  • 03/1988 - 11/1996: First three basic high school years and primary school, St. David's School, Montevideo, Uruguay.
