Physical Training
The Battalion musters two times per week to conduct physical training (PT) sessions. Any midshipman who does not pass the Navy Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) by obtaining a score of at least "Good Low" in all events of the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) or an overall score of 265 on the Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will attend extra, Fitness Enhancement Program (FEP) PT sessions each week until he or she has met Navy or Marine Corps standards for physical fitness. Alternately, Navy Option midshipmen who perform at the "Excellent Low" level or higher in all categories of the PRT are excused from one PT session per week. Unit standards are based on the 17-19 age group for Navy Options, however Marine Options is based off of the midshipman's actual age.
PT sessions usually consist of approximately one hour of an intense series of physical exercises, mixing in a strong balance of endurance through running and swimming, as well as strength conditioning through weight room use and bodyweight exercise circuits
