Back-Scatter Electron Microscopy

Backscatter signals were used to raster my sample in order to show compositional variation using image contrast. Here is a secondary electron (SE) image followed by a backscatter electron(BSE) image of the same sample. The BSE image shows that the sample has very similar elemental composition throughout the focused surface, apart from several tiny dark specks that are surface contaminations.
