BME students win top honors at the 2026 Forbes Competition

We excited to highlight the exceptional achievements of our Biomedical Engineering (BME) students at the 2026 Charles and Janet Forbes Business Pitch Competition, hosted by the Ain Center for Entrepreneurship. This year, our BME students stood out among the competition, earning both 1st and 3rd place honors.

🥇 First Place: Mulinx
Hossein Abolhassani (BME, PhD Student)
Mulinx is a Next-generation micro-organ-on-chip systems integrated with tissue models to replicate real-time organ–nerve interactions, enabling more accurate human physiology, disease modeling, and drug testing.
🥈 Second Place: DroneGurus
Guruansh Kohli (CS and Business)
Nate Bogdan (Digital Media Studies)
DroneGurus is a technology-driven company that leverages advanced drone systems to safely and efficiently clean buildings, inspect properties, and deliver a range of aerial maintenance services, reducing costs, minimizing risk, and improving access to hard-to-reach areas.
🥉 Third Place: Guidus Medical
Tim Guida (BME, MS-CMTI student '26)

From early-stage innovation to ventures with real commercial potential, the winning teams showed what happens when engineering talent meets entrepreneurial mindset. These engineers don’t just build; they also pitch ideas that actually land.
The Forbes Competition, founded in 1989 by Charles and Janet Forbes, celebrates entrepreneurial exploration and innovation among engineering students. It continues to be a cornerstone opportunity for students to transform bold ideas into actionable ventures.
Congratulations to all!
