Conclusion

The overall goal of this project was to study the shape-memory polymer using various tools within the Electron Beam Microscopy and Methods course. In particular, an emphasis was put on the micro indentation and surface roughness of the sample. Moreover, understanding the depth (Z height) of the indentation and the roughness of the surface using the Atomic Force Microscope will provide a precise mechanical analysis of the sample.

Acknowledgement

I would like to thank our course instructor Brian McIntyre for his guidance throughout this project as well as his unique method of teaching the OPT 407 course. Additionally, I would like to thank Professor John Lambropoulos and the entire SNM group for the valuable discussions pertaining to this project.
