Abstract:
URnano is the nanomaterials and nanodevice fabrication and measurement user-facility at the University, which is housed in the Wilmot and Goergen buildings. It was established in 2008 and equipment was procured largely in 2009 and 2010. Initially, high-end electron microscope systems were installed in Wilmot. The secondary effort involved the renovation of about 2000ft2 in the basement of Goergen Hall for a class-1000 cleanroom. This space opened in the summer of 2011. Many tools are now available for use by both UR affiliated people (as well as non-UR people) for a fee.
After an initial slide presentation tours of both areas will be given. Please wear flat-bottomed shoes (or sneakers) to facilitate cleanroom entry.
