On Friday, December 5, 2025, the Department of Biomedical Engineering hosted its annual BME 101 Poster Session, spotlighting the creative research projects of students enrolled in Professor Edward Brown’s course, BME 101: Introduction to Biomedical Engineering.

Throughout the semester, student teams dove into topics across the broad biomedical engineering landscape, combining technical analysis with thoughtful exploration of subjects that captured their curiosity. Their finished posters were presented to faculty, peers, and members of the broader BME community in Goergen Hall, allowing students to articulate their work and engage with attendees about their findings and insights.

Reflecting the interdisciplinary richness of the field, projects spanned areas such as biomechanics, biosystems, cell and tissue engineering, bioinstrumentation, medical imaging, medical optics, biosignals, and bioethics, giving participants a hands-on foundation for future academic and professional endeavors.

Prizes were given to the top 5 posters
A panel of BME 101 alumni selected five teams for “BME 101 Exceptional Poster Prize” honors at the end of the event.

The 2025 prizewinners were:

  • Kevin Cope & Andrew Fogelson
  • Alpha Banyong Rae Mirin
  • Genesis Kim & Esther Wang
  • Jane Randrianarisoa & Lujia Wu
  • Meredith Ryan & Quinn Seawright

Thank you to everyone who attended in support of our students, and congratulations to all participating students on a job well done!
