Immersive Audio Lab

Students and professors can use the Immersive Audio Lab in Computer Studies Building (CSB) 603 for spatial audio research in binaural audio, Ambisonics, wave field synthesis, and object-based audio. The 24-speaker spatial audio system can be used to play the recordings made with Ambisonic microphones. Students can also design and play immersive computer music for the system. We plan to build a 64-speaker system that can play Ambisonic recordings up to the 7th order.
