Abby Zabrodsky Wins the 2022 Young Alumni Award

The Department of Chemical Engineering is pleased to announce that Abigail Zabrodsky is the winner of the 2022 Young Alumni Award. This award is given annually to recognize graduates within the last 15 years for their service to society, their professional and technical accomplishments, and their demonstrated leadership.
Abby is currently employed by Rich Products, a global food manufacturer based in Buffalo, NY. She manages Rich’s new global equipment and product platform, ProWhip, as it is deployed globally. Previously, Abby held various roles at Rich’s including in process engineering, product development, operations engineering, marketing and new business and platform development.

Abby received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester in 2014, and her MBA from the Simon Business School Executive MBA program. Since graduating, Abby has become a passionate volunteer. Currently, she is a member of the Alumni Board, a co-chair of the global Women’s Network personal and professional development committee, a co-chair of the 2022 Volunteers in Partnership Conference, a mentor in The Meliora Collective mentoring program, a reunion volunteer, and a member of the George Eastman Circle. Abby previously served on the Young Alumni Council. Abby and her father, John Zabrodsky ’82, chemical engineering, are the recipients of the University’s 2022 John N. Wilder Award. She also received a 2022 Gwennie Award for Alumni Partnership from the Gwen M. Greene Career Center.

Abby also serves as the President of the ProZoo Board of the Buffalo Zoo, a young professional fundraising Board for the Buffalo Zoo, and as an advisor and Collegiate Chapter Administrator for Alpha Phi International Fraternity at the University of Rochester, Wilfrid Laurier University and Western University.
Abby resides in Buffalo, NY with her husband, Ken.
She will be accepting her award during Meloria Weekend at the annual Eisenberg Symposium (Friday, 9/30 from 3:30-5:30pm in Wegmans Hall). For those that would like to attend, Abby will be presented her award at approximately a 5pm.
