RESTORE: Remote Evaluation of Stroke and Telemonitoring Outcomes for Rehabilitation Efficacy

There are a limited number of Peruvian physicians and clinics available to manage the burden of stroke and sustain long-term rehabilitation. As a result, stroke patients are unable to access consistent therapy necessary to restore functional independence. Our device, RESTORE, consists of a mobile application and wearable motion sensor that aims to promote compliance to occupational rehabilitation regimens, addressing learned non-use and compensatory behaviors that may hinder restoration of motor function. By providing patients and clinicians with metrics assessing rehabilitative adherence, we aim to establish a telemonitoring infrastructure that allows physicians to assess patient outcomes and develop appropriate interventions.
